    Not gonna happen.

Given our judicial system I can't even see them spending the mandatory 6 of 10 years in Juvie if they get a life sentence before they're freed to carry on with their unsavory lives.

Plus, with no names given out, they could become you're next door neighbor and you'd never know.......... till your children or animals started disappearing.

Yeah.... I know.... Just a pipe dream. :(

Just ONCE I'd like to see justice served in a case like this. (Okay - I lied. I'd like 'em all to go straight to hell directly from their cells, but, I'd take one.)

Put them to good use, have them help clean up the Japanese reactors.

You know, instead of debating whether they should be tried as adults or as juviniles, if there was really justice in this country, we would be debating whether they get the electric chair or life in prison with no chance of parole.

For once I'd like people who were in charge to see behind the "political correctness" of not killing a killer. These guys are obvious psychopaths, you cannot help them. The sooner they are dead, the better it will be. Once these kids are out, they are going to be more refined psychopath killers. The lives they take afterwards is all on the justice system for there kitten like justice.

Yep, our justice system is a real paper tiger.

The question here shouldnt be the divisive should we try kids as adults. It should be how do you sentence the dangerous and psychotic mentally ill that are incurable. Clearly these guys are insane. Whether you sentence them to 500 years in prison, or forever in a mental institution is irrelevant.

Im no lawyer, but I believe if they are tried as being dangerously mentally ill, regardless of whether they are children or adults, they can be detained indefinitely. If they are tried as adults and convicted of first degree murder, they get 25 years.
    Its a moot point.

Murderers get life sentences in Canada, not 25 year sentences.

25 years w/o possibility of parole, but a life sentence. If they are found not guilty by reason of a mental disorder, they can be detained until they are deemed cured. If some shrink deems then cured, they must be released. OTOH, Bernardo or Olsen will never get out. All we need is a parole system that works, and it would keep these guys in for their lives as well. I'm not holding my breath.
