Thomas Jakobsson of Naval Guards in Nairobi, Kenya said Thursday that six of his guards were accompanying the Capricorn yacht on a separate motorboat. Six armed pirates were able to get aboard the Capricorn but the Dutch couple barricaded themselves in the boat.

At least these people took precautions. So did the pirates initially overwhelm the guards (ie multiple boats) or were the guards inattentive or what?

Enjoying the freedom of the seas as guaranteed by several international treaties.

No offense, but I apply the maxim of the woman in a sexy dress walking in an alley in a rough part of town at 3am on a Saturday morning. It may not be the brightest idea, but she has every legal right to do this and no one has a right to molest her. Period.

Same goes with sailing the Indian Ocean.

It should be safe for everyone and unsafe for pirates.

The day is coming when the international community will start slaughtering these mutts and I personally can't wait.

Mount a .50 on the front of every boat going through the area and have an m-32 to blow their boats up before they get close. And if they get on board, a jackhammer mk3a1.

Of course she has every right, but is it really necessary to knowingly do stupid shit and expect to be rescued?
If you KNOW you are going to a bad part of the world, don't tell me I cannot call you on your stupidity.

And no, I will not ever walk alone in a dark alley in a bad part of town. EVER.

I have every right to be there, and no one has a right to touch me, but we ain't living in Utopia. For my own safety, it is not a good thing to be stupid.

There are some fine people there in the Netherlands B, as in any other country.

Only teasing by the way

Still, there are some ignorant people found anywhere. They should go boat somewhere else.
