How culturally tolerant of you. Couldn't relate it back to pornography somehow?

Oddly enough, those hats were quite commonly seen in winter use throughout the British Empire. (if its the regular Astrakhan fur hat that Karzai usually wears).

Both by Civilians but mostly by Army Units.

Hows that for being a Buzz Killjoy?

I've always thought they look pretty elegant. Not much good in the cold tho - needs earflaps.

Always reminded me of the Beaver hats the Mounties wear. I always wanted on of those. Or a good Russian Sable hat.

And BTW J_H, Zulu is one of my favourite movies! ;)

agreed: i send my apologies to the culture of shitty winter hat-wearers, the world 'round.

..and don't think i haven't already cast karzai as lead salad tosser in a few jailhouse epics.. he'll be right at home keeping gangsters happy.

Who really gives a shit about his hat. I'm more concerned with his policies or lack thereof?

But in answer to your question about his hat Doc, I can remember back to the good old days of pornography................., before bald was beautiful. 8O

And with that, I'll leave the topic alone.

As seen in use today by Bugle Major and Bandsmen of the Light Division. Astrakhan hats were common wear in the late Victorian era for Rifle Regiments.

Yeah, I never got that either. But people are used to it by now, so I think that controversy is dead now, isn't it?

But kudos to Harper. It's about time that someone told the "government" of Afghanistan the way it's gonna be. I also hope they "discussed" negotiating with the Taliban because that clearly must not happen while Canada remains involved there.

Riot Act. Hah hah hah hah!

"Better belt up or I won't find some weasely way to extend the mission again come 2014!"

Karzai should've been told AND have agreed to a lot of shit before we even considered wasting another 2c propping up his corrupt ass.

    lol! that's awesome. discomuff galore..
but - as for the policies, etc.. agreed! as such, i despise him to the point that i now go after his attire and personal choices. that being said, i do appreciate how it's all descended into an actual back and forth re: military headdress. lol.

vis a vis the turban vs. rcmp tradition ? couldn't care less. actually, i think a red or black turban is quite sharp on a man. ..not me of course - nothing goes well with scottish orange beard which is not crosshatched and/or wollen. ...which would be a bitch in the summer months.
