U.S. airline passengers are growing increasingly frustrated by airport security checks, showing irritation with the widespread use of full-body image detectors and the introduction of more intrusive pat-downs.

Airline security is a theatre of the absurd.

There are better ways to deal with this.

That meant he had to submit to a pat-down by an agent. The security agent explained to Tyner that he would have to touch his groin area.

"I told the person that being molested should not be a condition of getting on a flight," he told the Associated Press Monday.

"This is not considered a sexual assault," a supervisor can be heard telling him.

"It would be if you were not the government," replies Tyner.

Tyner was eventually told he could not fly at all and was escorted back to the ticketing area, where he got a refund for his ticket.

So your proctologist or my gyneacologist is sexually assaulting too?

    Watch this short video.
Islam and as its people cover their heads and faces and are free from checks.
That, in part due to the NAACP and religious freedom thanks to anti porfiling rules.
Four year old American girls are not.

Many pilots and air crews are also against these tactics.

IDEA; How about special, Non-Secure flights with pilots and crews against these searches doing the flights and folks against them being the passangers?

Put Em all in the same plane and say goodbye.

Better yet, do a detailed search and background check of unmarried, clean-shaven, Muslim males age 15-35 travelling on one-way tickets. Start there.

How about in Canada, we hire well trained (and well paid) security staff, led by people who have an actual knowledge of security, the threats we face and update that info with CSIS and RCMP links. I reckon there's a few thousand ex-military guys who had to face terrorism up close in the Sandpit that have expertise we could use.

    Or...

We could tender out the bid to the lowest bidder and hire non-citizens with zero knowledge of security and limited language skills, give them 3 days training, pay them a dollar-an-hour more than Tim Hortons and we have the security state at Canadian airports as seen at present.

Canada's airports.....protected by the lowest bidder since 911.

I think if we went with either of EyeBrock's suggestions, yours would become automatic.

Thanks. It's been nine years since 9/11 and still people are avoiding common sense in airport security.

Molesting people whose profiles are utterly tangential to Islamic extremism and Islamic terrorism is the penultimate expression of mindless political correctness. Really, I'm not proposing that we do anything different with security than what many Muslim countries do themselves.

My second one wasn't a suggestion. It's the reality! Security brought to you by lowest bidder.

Of course this new rule doesn't take into consideration the absurdity if not the outright insult to Canadians/Americans

Love the logic here. Muslims are still trying to blow up planes over here so of course the obvious solution would be to hire muslims to make sure nuns aren't carrying bombs

Heathrow is the worst airport in the Western world. I hate the place.
