Wow. I think this calls for measures. Signs or something that say that people never have to be alone with an officer of the opposite gender, that there always needs to be a second officer in the room, so people know their rights.

Brenda, I totally agree. There should be (or maybe there is) signs telling people that. While I know it must be intimidating to be brought inside by a border guard I still wonder what the women in the story were thinking, strip please? Really? I wuld of told him to go f..k himself and talked to his supervisor. But of course thats me and some people are more timid and don't question authority. Also I guess he may have tried it on dozens of women and those were the 4 who actually did it, or reported it.

Sorry to say, but there are going to be justifiable reasons for officers to tell a suspect to strip and that authority should not be taken away. However, the abuse of that authority should have severe repercussions as a message to those who would abuse the trust given to them by the people of Canada.

Totally agree with you Bart, but like any 'Police situation' involving members of the opposite sex, Brenda hit it. Women should be 'strip searched' by female officers' not in the presence of male officers.

No need for the majority of strip searches to be done in that manner at borders anymore.

Get one of those spiffy doodle X-ray machines that they have in airports.
