Two of the nine stowaways discovered aboard a freighter that docked in Montreal last week told an Immigration and Refugee Board hearing Tuesday they want to stay in Canada, though they haven't applied for refugee status.

That's great. Why should that prevent me from saying they should go fuck themselves though? 8O

They thought the boat was headed to Europe...

We don't need any dumbasses in our country. We have enough of our own.

If they really want to become Canadians, they can go back to Morocco and apply like everyone else. This refugee stowaway bullshit needs to come to an end right bloody now.

Then they get accepted they can wait for 5-6 years because despite being fully accepted because we have an immigration cap of 250,000 a year. A flawed system in the first place that makes it increasingly hard for them to apply and drives them to go illegal.

Same system everyone else uses. They can do the same. As as I pointed out in the first place - they thought the boat was headed to Europe. They didn't intend to come here in the first place. Ship 'em out.

Bingo. That's a precedent we do NOT need to set. We have enough loopholes to hang ourselves with.

Quite obviously their immigration lawyer hasn't shown up yet.

If he had, they'd all be applying for refugee status with accompanying perks.

This is just plain bullshit, even when these assholes end up here by mistake we have to take them in. I guess Canada, because of our sickening adherence to an antiquated and flawed document, has become the "it country" for everyone, illegals, and wrong way corrigans included.

The only way this crap is going to stop is if we publicly burn that 1967 UN convention so we can, without world wide recrimination, send the illegals back to their country of origin and if when doing so we were to accidently burn 760 United Nations Plaza, New York, New York to the ground all the better.

I don't know what Canada signed or what 'laws' there are concerning refugees or migrants wanting to live here but here in Canada we make our own rules and if that means turning aside migrants or refugees all we need to do is force them back on the boat regardless of treaties or whatever and the thing is, nobody is going to care if we renege on those treaties or international law but hey, its Canada where we take international law WAAAAAAAAAY too seriously (yes you can say we are a country of integrity which others should follow but that has its LIMITS) and you know we will let those people in eventually regardless if our govt is Con or Lib right along with a big fat pension paid by yours truly the tax payers.

We dont make our own rules.

    We are that stupid.

That UN convention should be scrapped, it was written in a time
    that no longer exists.

I guess I'd like to think we make our own rules but you could be right. Still, all it takes is decisive action, something this country can't do unless it involves years of debating and talk.

If they were under some sort of threat or faced some sort of unjust sentence then I could understand them being able to stay here.

But Morocco despite it's economic problems has no such thing. Send them back and set a precedent that Canada will accept absolutely no human smuggling or boats of migrants period.
