More than 1,700 private offshore bank accounts belonging to Canadians turned up on a list of secret accounts in Switzerland, a joint CBC News/Globe and Mail investigation into possible tax evasion has found.

    A guy steals peoples priviate information, flees from law enforcement when they question him. Now a ton of ppl are being investigated and this guy has nothing happening to him? 8O

    French officials ultimately gave their citizens an opportunity to pay up without facing penalty. Half a billion euros were returned.

    That was based on 8000 or so French accounts, scary to think of how much those 1785 Canadian accounts might bring in...

    If the Swiss ever get hold of him he can buddy up with the two IRS agents who've been doing time over there since 1988.
