Indian organizers faced more embarrassment Sunday as a boxer's bed collapsed when he sat on it after moving into his accommodation at the Commonwealth Games athletes' village.

    Problem is all their best engineering minds are working in North America lol.

    I'm leaning towards the games being an unmitigated disaster; but then that's not a real unsafe bet.

    It's actually quite bizarre that Indian Sports Committee cannot get its act together. South Africa, a smaller country with a smaller overall GDP just held almost a perfect World Cup, a much more challenging logistical feat. On the other hand, India can't organize 1 city for the games.

    Pity.

    I think its the completely lack of interest in throwing an event that they dont see as worth while. I can understand it though, when you cant even sustain infrastructure for your on populace what are you doing throwing lavish, compared to the average way of life, sporting events.

    Honestly they have no excuse. They had seven years to prepare for this in one city, its not even nation wide thing. I agree with sock, if S.A can pull a much bigger multi city event like the world cup......

    South Africa is still quite a few rungs up the ladder compared to India.

    And the CW games are about a dozens more rungs lower than the World cup
