MOSCOW � Russia's outspoken prime minister, Vladimir Putin, dismissed forecasts Thursday that Arctic nations would soon clash over resources in the polar region believed to hold up to a quarter of the Earth's undiscovered oil and gas.

    His thinking is tha threats, intimidation and a corrupt United Nations will win the day for Russia.

    If we aren't careful he might be right.

    But then again, he's the guy who yapped his mouth off and poisoned China trade when even George Bush was smart enough to STFU.

    Tony Blair, I recall him addressing the US COngress after 9-11. The calm understated yet stong term of what he said I found very desirable in a leader.

    He's probably right. Globalization will make national borders more and more irrelevant in the next 100 years. We won't need to fight for resources (on a national level).
