This story says his sentence was reduced to 7 years because of this age. But I read it was reduced because he's native.

Meanwhile theres another story here about a guy who was 17 when he shot and somebody. How is his crime worth double the time of the killer in this story?

Find it yourself. I would get info like this from the Vancouver Sun.

If you are going to make a statement, have the testicular fortitude to back it up.

Not at all! He made a statement, and I a link to back-up that statement. Instead, he as much as told me to go pound sand!

    Fixed it.

The B.C. Court of Appeal found that his youth and aboriginal background should have been given more consideration in the original sentence

I wasn't telling you to pound sand. I was stating what I'd read somewhere, and since I didn't right off the bat recall when/where, I wasn't going to go looking for it just to make you happy. I didn't actually read it in the story Hyak provided, but in the ongoing reporting of the case - ie much earlier. Around here this story made a big splash - some poor guy being dragged to his death, and the kid bragging about it afterward.

But I can do it now - go pound sand.

It's typical. Aboriginals get lighter sentences or no sentences because of their race in a number of cases. But yet a good upstanding black woman has a vehicular accident which kills 2 people who are Aboriginal and suddenly the justice system is racist (I've read a Aboriginal forum elsewhere).

Actually, now that I think of it, I agree. Our Canadian justice system is racist.
