Yes, it's very hazy again. Earlier in August I took a pic of what is usually my view of the local mountains and you couldn't even see the outline of them. It cleared up a bit last week but I noticed today that it's become really bad again. We really need some rain throughout the province to help bring this fire situation under control.

I've also noticed that since I leave my livingroom windows open 24/7 right now because of the heat, that there is a fine black dust settling on the inside of my windowsills.

That's a fact of life here. The only really clean days are after heavy rains, typhoons and when the UV is up between 11 and 13. The Chinese/Taiwanese are just like most third worlders when it comes to pollution. In the winter they have the gall to call it ocean mist....Ocean mist doesn't smell and taste(yes...literally) like insustrial waste.

It ain't just Duncan that's getting it on the Island.

While not as bad as a week or so ago, you can't see the straits from my window anymore, little own the North Shore Mountains.

If this keeps up, I'm going back to smoking since it's healthier.

I was feeling a little 'home sick' on vancover island with the smoke , looked a bit like smog. Reminded myself of a nice clear summer day in southeren ont. (hamilton)

Try Hwy16 west to Rupert. Smoke is so thick I had to check my watch going through Vanderhoof as the temperature dropped and I thought the sun had set at 7:30.
Here you can't see across Stuart Lake, the slight wind is piling the smoke up towards the top of the mountain and playing havoc with TV and wireless internet transmitters there.
I'll try to post some pics tomorrow, the Sun was just a red glow all afternoon, the Moon looked like a stoplight.
