Yeah, "hint" being the operative word here. I wish I had a pic of me NOT holding my breath cuz this would be the perfect thread in which to post it.

It's never too late, but I doubt if it will amount to much. Even if the Reformacons were serious about getting tough, there's no way the opposition would let them.

Too bad. If Harper were really serious about putting in some very tough immigration/refugee reforms, I could almost vote for him. Almost.

You'll never see it. The Conservatives can talk tough but without a majority and having to deal with the deniers in opposition who can't see the forest for the trees, they're dead in the water, no matter how hard they campaign to get the laws toughened up.

But if we can hang on a few more months sympathies in Parliment and the country as a whole may change with the arrival of the other two suspected Tamil refugee ships. A majority of Canadians are going to start to get a little pissy when they continue to see their tax money being spent to the tune of between $40,000 and $100,000 dollars per Tamil.

The only people benefitting from this are the immigration lawyers and the bureaucrats who get to keep their safe little jobs.

Since they all end up in Toronto anyway, the best we can hope for is that they all move in next door to their chief defender, Olivia Chow and see how she likes it.

Olivia loves this stuff. It's just white guys who vote anything but NDP she doesn't like too much.

One thing out of all of this, the Tories have a lightning rod issue on the table right now that could have some longevity.

Even the Toronto Star 'poll' has 79% of it's readers voting to turn away refugee ships before they land in Canada. The pinky Globe types are of the same opinion too.

It looks like it's just the odd poster on here that thinks letting these queue jumpers and cheats in is a good idea.

Very interesting. This could either be a great vote getter for the Tories, or more likely they will just fuck it up again at it will end up being another small hill for them to die on.

They'll just fuck it up as usual. Since when do leaders in this country listen to the voters, even when it's a large majority that are speaking out?

Yea, you are right PA9. Those tossers in Ottawa, regardless of political stripes, will fuck this up as usual.

How did it get to be that we have the idiots (Harper, Iggy, Jack, Gilles) left in charge?

Not sure what can be done about this. Perhaps some kind of "Ellis Island" type of installation with Housing, Services, and Jobs could cut Costs. Our International Agreements ties our hands quite a bit otherwise.

Well she gets to deal with the white guys who DO vote NDP as well. And the native ones. And all the other men and women members sickened by this abortion of justice.
