I believe Assange when he says he built his system to totally protect the person leaking something. This guy is a genius former hacker knowing how to protect himself from persecution. Normally, those kind of guy knows a lot about the law and what information could be dangerous for them

You mean, sending false leaks to Wikileaks ? I don't think it would work. The guy looks very well organized and seems to have a professional staff and advisers.
