I've got a disease which has actually caused severe degradation of vision in my left eye, and it is unlikely that it is going to get better due to the extensive retinal scarring which came from the surgery to fix some of the problems. While the optic nerve remains intact, the rest has not been so lucky.

So whenever I see one of these articles, I always get excited. Not just because of what they are doing but because it is one step closer to possibly me having normal vision in that eye again someday, even if it is experimental right now.

I think this is truly a marvel of modern science/medicine.
