Mayors of Canada's big cities aren't exactly beating down the door to host the next international summit, after seeing the havoc in Toronto over the weekend.

Since they seem to hold these things every 6 months or so now, just have one permanent site that's easy to secure. It's insane to spend this much money and all they come up with is the "Sinatra Doctrine" where each country does it their way - they need a summit to decide that? Also probably better to get the leaders out of the way and let the finance ministers meet instead - maybe less bun, more beef. The world economy is in trouble, and all these guys come up with are photo ops.

Can't take credit for this - it's from another story I posted here.

Hold your breath for the announcement from the next summit, where they'll agree to disagree. Next up after that will be the "your mother wears army boots" summit. (Apologies to any CF guys here for whom this may be literally true and and offensive stereotype.)

I still like the idea of someplace like Resolute that's easy to secure. Somewhwere protestors can't access by bus.

How about we build a fence around them there, and keep them there until they come up with a plan that will actually work?

Hold them all at the Coliseum in Rome. Meetings in the basement, rioters and cops on the field and plenty of spectator seating. At $100 a seat to make that billion back.

That's exactly what went on in Toronto. Create a diversion with the cops, hold the meetings away from the protestors.
