This, like the lake is bullshit. It's time the new elite started living like the people the claim to represent.
Next time they hold a freakin party, it should be catered to by Burger King and if they have to take a dump, they can wait in line like the rest of us for the one holer $150.00 a night outhouse.
As much as I dislike Ignatieff and enjoyed all the poop-joke puns, this is a non-issue.
Guys, this is Liberal party money, not taxpayer money.
Second, what type of port-a-john is suitable for a garden party at Stornoway Manor (the home of the official Leader of the Opposition) attended by wealthy and important people? I'm sure if you were in his position, you would not have opted for the foul-smelling blue rocket for your millionaire guests.
Actually, the "fake lake" itself is a non-issue except for the apallingly bad decision to host the event in Toronto at astronomical cost in the first place and the fact that it was made by a party that made it bones criticising and opposing virtually all government spending while in opposition.
If the Liberals want to waste their own money on a fancy shitter, that's their prerogative. This and the lake are two different things.
Despite that I don't really care about the lake or all the other political pork, because the Libs were famous for it when they were in office and god forbid Layton getting in the PMO. He's put the Libs and Cons to shame for pork no doubt, stuffing his union and environmental buddies full of cash.
Iggy is handing the next election to the Tories on a silver platter. Double standards and contradictions everywhere.

If the Reformacons were paying for that lake, then you could talk about double standards. But what the Libs do with their own money is up to them. Interesting, and what IS the source of "their own money"?

Donations and that govt subsidy thingy. The thing is they get that based on votes - the don't get one penny more if they rent fancy toilets for a fancy do. So if you want to not give them your voted because the rented a fancy toilet, I guess they'll have to bear that cross.
This is just the media's version of balance. I wouldn't mind if they actually investigated all spending. When politicians preach to us about the need for cutbacks, I would like to see them walk that talk.
Exactly. So in most cases, their own money is still taxpayer money at some level. The thing is, I'm not so much annoyed at the rental of a $1500 port-a-john(although it's a little extreme) but WHY the rental at all? Does Stornoway not come with washrooms?

As long as political parties receive so much as 1 dollar of our money, we have the duty to hold their feet to the fire over all spending!

Yeah, he rented it from the "Politicians Rent-all".
