Brutal. So many officials on one plane? Maybe time for a policy change?

The Tupolev Tu-154 jet was carrying Kaczynski and his wife, the military chief of staff, central bank governor, deputy foreign minister, members of parliament and other top officials

How can you let all those top people fly in the same plane??

Surprising something like this doesn't happen very often.
    Imagine losing a complete pro-sports team. 8O

At 7:35 pm on November 14, 1970, the aircraft crashed into a hill just short of the Tri-State Airport, killing all 75 people on board. The plane was carrying 37 members of the Marshall University Thundering Herd football squad, eight members of the coaching staff, 25 boosters, four flight crew members, and one employee of the charter company.

That was all but 3 players.

    That's so unbelievable.

At least, the vice-president wasnt in the plane. That is like beheading a whole country.

We have a lot of Poles in Montreal and I know 2 personnaly who fled communism. So to them I say that I am with you and sorry for your loss.

I remembered that one, having seen the television reports when it happened.

To my defense, I did say "pro-sports team", though.

Look up the Manchester United team in the sixites. They had wnning team that was all but wiped out on an airplane crash. The same also happened to a winning team in Torino in the fifties.

The Polish Government couldn't have afforded a few more jets?

I only care about Polish politics cause I represented them in Model UN at college, but this is still a tragedy. Thankfully the Prime Minister wasn't on the plane or it could have been even worse.

Other big people on the plane included the woman who's firing started the entire Solidarity movement.

Its sad that the Polish President was only coming on this trip because he wasn't invited to the memorial held a week earlier that was attended by Prime Ministers Donald Tusk and Vladimir Putin.

    No.

The media would jump on it as a sign of being too elite.

The 'separation' of for example the British Royals
    doesnt exist in the East.

    This may change things, maybe

The Tupolev Tu-154 model plane is thought to have crashed in foggy weather but no official comment has come from the Polish or Russian government.

The Tupolev Tu-154, a Soviet era built plane is banned in many airports around the world.

I am guessing foul play from Russia after the dispute over Missile Defense debacle.

It's time the EU implement it as law. They think of lots of stupid laws, and one like this makes sense.
Poland is getting enough money from the EU taxpayers to book 2 planes.
