Jewish leaders around the world expressed anger after Pope Benedict XVI's personal priest likened the recent allegations against the Roman Catholic Church over sex abuse cases to anti-Semitism at a Good Friday service in Vatican City.

I agree with the Jewish position on this. What is going on in the RC church is that they need to stop attempting to deflect blame and to cooperate with law enforcement officials.

The RC Church cannot operate outside the law and obtruct justice. Every time they do that they weaken their own moral standing.

What in the world does this have in common with the holocost absolutely nothing.

All they are trying to do is literally preach to the choir, its just so the hard line Christians have the excuse that they are being picked on. It's easy to see the Catholic church doesnt give a flying fuck about what the heathens and heretics think of them. If they did they would have fired the pedophiles off to jail instead of giving them fresh victims.

As a Catholic I was taken back by this comment from the priest.. keep in mind that the Pope did not agree with this statement. There is absolutely no comparison between the suffering of innocent Jews at the hands of Hitler and the current crisis in the Catholic Church brought on by their own members. I believe good will come of this situation and a tougher stand taken in the future. Remember too that there are millions of priests. Some very good christian men. Not all priests are diddlers.. The church will survive this and continue on.. as it should.

This is the best the Catholic Church can muster? Sad. And to invoke Anti-Semitism? Despicable.

Sooooo, doing nothing about child molesting priests is the same as Jews being murdered for simply being Jews??

Yep, I can certianly see the parallel

A representative of the Church...now the distancing begins amidst the rightful flurry of commendation. Pitiful and so are the apologists.

Why any average Catholic keeps going back to listen to those revolting pederast scum that control the church hierarchy is beyond me. And why so little of this ever gets prosecuted by the secular authorities is making me angrier every time one of these incidents gets revealed. I'm assuming it's because our politician are so gutlessly terrified that someone will start screaming "anti-Catholic persecution!" during an election campaign if they finally started putting these pervert priests and their bishop/cardinal enablers in prison for what they've done. If anyone who still doesn't understand why people like Bill Maher, Christopher Hitchens, (and me) would like to burn down every disgusting organized religion right to the ground has clearly been turning a blind eye to this sickening issue.

They rape children. And then they alway get away with doing it. Evil, evil fuckers.
