When California voters head to the polls in November, they will decide whether the state will make history again -- this time by legalizing the recreational use of marijuana for adults
California is going to need all the pot it can get, given the challenges it currently faces. But atyy least they are doing somehting about it--voting on it. More than I can say about Canada that just been wringing its hands about it for forty fucking years.
"BartSimpson" said Yep, and they propose a $50 per ounce tax which will make certain that there's still a viable black market for pot.
I have no idea of current pot prices, but isn't $50 an ounce rather cheap? The whole idea with legalization is to add sin taxes to benefit the govt coffers and put a brake on consumption. Since pot is so easy to grow, there will always be some kind of black market - but a vastly reduced one. The gangstas will have to look elsewhere for their bling money.
Bart, being a true free enterpriser, just doesn't like the public option. Health care and drug supply should be strictly a private matter between a person and their dealer.

Nothing compared to the current markup. Danger pay adds value quickly.
Not so dangerous supplying something legal.
