Wow, excessive and there is no other way to spin it. It didn't look like either were resisting at all. You gotta use your brain, someone always has a camera!
Ah, all the fun and games that go on at Wharf St and Pandora Ave. in Victoria. Guess Vic PD haven't learned anything after all the crap that their brethren on the mainland caused.

Yea, or: If dealing with the asshole in the yellow police jacket, do not get on the ground. Because once there the coward WILL kick you. Couldn't bother to get his hands dirty until they were on the ground. Then he gave each one a couple of boots.

I bet you cheered what those 3 brothers did up in Peace River Saturday night.

I knew a bouncer just like asshole in the yellow jacket. Walks in circles acting important and tough while his fellow officers do the work. Once the guys are down and safely contained he steps in to lend a couple of boots. Watch the video again, you'll see what I mean.
first guy was down and finished, second guy got on the ground all by himself when told. If he was resisting he wasn't giving it much effort.
While I agree with the police use of force on suspects that won't follow direction, this is just plain stupidity on the part of the Victoria Police.
Despite the fact that it was likely these two miscreants who put the boots to the guy in the doorway, the cops had to know they were being filmed and should have acted accordingly.
It may be a frustrating job but if this police officer wasn't any more observant about being filmed or any better equiped to handle the stress, maybe he should be ticketing cars in the Blanshard St Parkade instead of arresting asswipes downtown.

Robair,
I know you and I certainly don't agree on the Vancouver airport tasering, but on this one, I think we're lock step together.
Buddy got down on the ground right away; I never heard either cop tell him he was under arrest. One slaps on the cuffs and the other boots his back.
Even if buddy was a mouthy shithead all night, there's no excuse kicking him while one officer already has a ninja-lock on his arm slapping on the cuff.
When I heard about this I agreed this is a case where they stepped over the line, BUT this was a huge fight with eight very drunk civilians involved. Id like to see what happened BEFORE the camera started rolling before I condemn the cops on this.
I guess they forgot to bring their tazers...
And what will happen to them ?
Nothing.
Wanda: I hate the police, don't you?
Henry: I don't know, but I seem to feel better when they're not around.
