Somehow I don't think it will be too long before they're caught, and then the sob stories will start once Child Services step in.

Usually they go to Walmart but it must have been the dad's turn to shop.

Wow, I'm shocked they made it out the door with that much stuff. I live here and I know from going in there occasionally that they always seem to have alot of staff on hand especially at the exits. I've had to show my receipt as I've left the store. Someone must have been on a break or otherwise distracted.

It's a little harder now Strutz. At one of the big chain stores, they are no longer allowed to ask if you have a receipt for an item. It was made new policy after a person took a store to court for defamation of character. Store staff are not even allowed to assist store security and it's a hands-off policy now.

The only way to bust someone is line of sight from the time of theft to when they walk out the door by a store security employee. You will find in future that store security will be contracted out with strict guidelines to follow or stores will no longer stop criminals from taking what they want (apart from calling the police after the fact).

It's sad and pathetic but that's the way it works now. Criminals have more sensitive feelings than the honest people do apparently.

They must have set off the anti-theft alarms as they walked out?

They should have been subject to search... that's how it works for us... :D
