The Pope arguing that celibacy is not the cause of the sexual scadles reminds me of the Catholic church's denial for that the earth revolved around the sun. The church only relented when all the evedence made them look rediculous in maintaining their earth centered world theory.
The churched position on this (and science for that matter) is to defy common sense and science at any cost to the Nth degree.
