Get ready to memorize new words to the national anthem. Parliament is to be asked to review the "original gender-neutral wording of the national anthem," says the throne speech delivered by Gov. Gen. Michalle Jean on Wednesday.

    Again?????

Christ! I still automatically use the words I learned as a kid before "far and wide and "God" was incorporated.

An anthem is an anthem. Leave the damn thing alone.

    Oh geez not again.

The words Sons, native and God have to go !!!! The unity of Canada depends on it.

Every once and awhile the idiotic PC monster rears its ugly head.

Oh for **** sakes, what are they going to change it to? Some PC bullshit that in the end won't mean a damn thing about Canada, but at least it won't offend any minority or special interest group...

Actually, the proposition is to revert to the original version written in 1908.

True patriot love thou dost in us command.

    to replace

True patriot love in all thy sons command

Lets see, singer from Vancouver butchers National Anthem, Goverment decides to revert to original words of the "song" before it became the National Anthem.

I have the solution. Since O Canada didn't become our national anthem till 01 July 1980 why don't we revert to the actual original National Anthem:

    "God Save the Queen"

That should make everyone happy.

Because soon, England won't have a queen anymore but a king, and then it has to be changed AGAIN!

Um...easy, they're politicians. Do you know a politician who doesn't do that? Oh right, the honest ones who never even get nominated to run for office cause they're not crooked enough....right.
