    neither can I...

    But..
Police said the boy slipped from his mom's comforting arms when another child suddenly grabbed her legs in a hug as she stood beside a 3.3-meter tall glass and metal wall in the second level "C" seating area.

    how is it possible? :?

Why would you hold your child so close to a ledge?

I know this has nothing to do with WSIB (Workplace Safety Insurance Board), but how does their saying go...

    There are no accidents.

The 3.3 metre wall is a obvious typo...

Police say the airport balcony railing is waist-high and meets all safety code requirements.

Tragic. I've seen kids that age do exactly that before. The Mother can have a sufficient hold of the Kid one moment, then the next moment the kid gets loose unexpectedly. Most of the time they just end up falling to the floor, crying a bit, and life goes on.

Ah. 3.3 ft... THAT I understand.

And yes, kids do that. Mine did... Just not close to a railing, and I caught her. But I didn't have have another one on my leg then...

It's so sad... Poor boy... How are the parents ever getting over this? How can she live with the guilt she is undoubtedly feeling?

You obviously don't have children. If you had, you wouldnt say shit like this.

You claiming mom threw him?

no, I think he's saying the mother was a little careless, standing so close to the railing with a young child. I have children, and I stood well back from drop offs like that when I held them, call me paranoid.

I do have children and I think the mom showed poor judgement standing where she did. That being said, I do feel for her as it is a shitty way to learn a lesson.

As far as the "no accidents" statement, I would say that 90% or more of "accidents" are preventable. Including those involving children.

Regardless, it's tragic, no parent should have to go through anything like this

I agree, but who isn't at times? The vast majority of times nothing tragic happens, but on occasion tragedy does occur. The only positive thing to come from this will be an example to other parents to be more cautious. 20-30 years from now it will probably happen again.
