Three missing North Dakota college softball players, including 21-year-old Ashley Neufeld of Brandon, Man., were found dead Tuesday in a Jeep pulled from a pond two days after the women disappeared.

    The electrical system shorts out and they can't get the windows down, and there'd be no way that they could force the doors open until the pressure equalized(cab would be full of water). A 4 m deep slough isn't very deep but that would be enough weight to trap them. Had they been able to break the windows on the doors with a hard object such as a hammer, chances are they'd be alive.

    My one though is that though yes this is tragic, why would you call your friend twice if your vehicle was sinking, hello, 911. They can trace cell calls that are cutoff and possably would have arrived in time.

    Which is why there is a hammer in my glove box
