When the top names on the International Olympic Committee visit Vancouver for the 2010 Games next February, little expense will be spared to see that they're comfortable and tuned in to virtually every athletic competition underway
"Brenda" said Welllll... The IOC HAS royalty in it... Prince Willem Alexander of the Netherlands is (or was?)a member of the IOC and the Dutch crownprince...
Half the defrocked nobility of Europe are on it. Gives them something to do.

Did we ever figure out who to blame for not letting the women ski-jumpers jump?
VANOC says it's the IOC. IOC says it's VANOC.
I personally think IOC. It doesn't make sense it would be VANOC. We have good Canadian, women ski jumpers. It would be a popular event.
I think it's the IOC, and it says a lot about what's wrong with that organization. Elitist, unreasonable, inflexible, mired in bureaucracy, and no interest in giving the people what they want.
Piss on the public.

I don't give two shits. What have they contributed to the Olympics, let alone the world, let alone Canada?
Hey! Wim-Lex has skated the "Elfstedentocht"! That should be an Olympic sport!
What he has contributed is a lot of marketing for the country, and amazing parties for the athletes. That, and his intelligence...
For Canada, they all have voted for BC to be able to host the Olympics, like BC wanted to...
Errr, except for in politics, there you steal from the ones that voted for you...
Why should the big-wigs be treated any better than the athletes? And why do we have to pay for their luxury?
