When the top names on the International Olympic Committee visit Vancouver for the 2010 Games next February, little expense will be spared to see that they're comfortable and tuned in to virtually every athletic competition underway

One other thing they asked for was a lane on the Lion's Gate Bridge to be dedicated ONLY for IOC officials driving between Vancouver and Whistler.

    Piss on the public.

I'm sure the mayor of Vancouver would be pleased as hell to do that, providing their on bicycles.

Hehehe, I think he has plenty to do with his watermanagement and Beatrix who will quit pretty soon, AND his 3 kids ;-)

I don't give two shits. What have they contributed to the Olympics, let alone the world, let alone Canada?

Hey! Wim-Lex has skated the "Elfstedentocht"! That should be an Olympic sport! ;-)

What he has contributed is a lot of marketing for the country, and amazing parties for the athletes. That, and his intelligence...

For Canada, they all have voted for BC to be able to host the Olympics, like BC wanted to...

We already have the games. Tell them to fuck off.

Hey come on, it doesn't work that way! You have to reward the ones that voted for you! It works that way EVERYWHERE!

Errr, except for in politics, there you steal from the ones that voted for you...

I'm a supporter of the Olympics, but this came as quite a surprise to me and quite a piss off.

Why should the big-wigs be treated any better than the athletes? And why do we have to pay for their luxury?

Did we ever figure out who to blame for not letting the women ski-jumpers jump?

VANOC says it's the IOC. IOC says it's VANOC.

I personally think IOC. It doesn't make sense it would be VANOC. We have good Canadian, women ski jumpers. It would be a popular event.

I think it's the IOC, and it says a lot about what's wrong with that organization. Elitist, unreasonable, inflexible, mired in bureaucracy, and no interest in giving the people what they want.
