A young soldier has been sentenced to serve four years in prison and will be kicked out of the military for fatally shooting his tentmate while they were serving together in Afghanistan.

    Sounds pretty lenient to me.

    Drapeau comes across as a jackass and an idiot. I think he got what he deserved and I wouldnt be suprised if he served 2 years in a military prison and 2 in a federal one.

    Wow, I rarely listen to Michel Drapeau drone on but I made the exception and listened to him weigh in. Thats 3 minutes of my life that I'm not getting back.

    It's a manslaughter charge. A standard sentence, even on the �planet civilian�.
    Plus a dis-honourable discharge. This guy wanted to stay in, the verdict will hurt him.

    Time plus discharge is a reasonable result.

    What more should he have got? He shot his best mate.

    Sounds reasonable. From what I understand, it was a "game" gone wrong, not an intentional act or even act of passion.
