THe folks Mr Putin needs to impress are the Israelis. He has to convince them that folks who want to "wipe them off the map" will behave in what he calls "showing restraint".

Mr Netanyahu and Mossad I don't think will be impressed.

Translation: "They're buying shitloads of Cold War nuclear technology, please don't destroy it before we can rip them off more. Please Israel? We'll keep selling the Arabs our cheap Russian tanks and aircraft too if you do this one favor for us."

At least they do not go around shooting guns into the air , and staging staged protest,s , They do have the upper hand in the Image dept , and in the White House .

Sorry but it time for the Arabs to stop terrorism and all its deeds , and talk seriously about the problem . Israel has to also retract many of its acts of agression and occupation of land that is not theres, etc . The Kuwaitis have the financial means to help there poor cousins all on there own so have the Saudis . It is time for Israel to see that Palestine deserves what they were given long ago too, a home .
The whole bunch of them need to show the world that religion is not just a excuse to fight or blow the world up , believe what you will but do it on your own and in peace .
No offence and I admit I do not have a good grasp of the sitiuation just am sick of the BS i hear from that part of the world. All of them need to GROW THE HELL UP .

Ahmenidijad (sp) never said "wipe Israel off the map." This was an intentionally poor translation provided by our media Jews to stoke paranoia in Israel (already suffering from high levels of unfounded paranoia) and demonize another Arab country.

Iran is not an "Arab country".

And just WTF are our "media jews"?

What Ahmenidijad (sp) did say was to "wipe the Zionist political regime off the map." A laudable goal by most standards, a goal supported by all people concerned with human rights for all.

Er...OK Batman. That's the best belly laugh I've had in ages.

Actually, his own government website had his quote translated, which was something like "Erase Israel from time" or something. Of course, they took it down, after a while, but the translation was basically accurate.

    Actually, here's the quote:

    "People who know Farsi" said
According to Juan Cole, a University of Michigan Professor of Modern Middle East and South Asian History, Ahmadinejad's statement should be translated as:

The Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem (een rezhim-e eshghalgar-e qods) must [vanish from] the page of time (bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad).

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) translates the phrase similarly, as "be eliminated from the pages of history."

So basically being erased from history seems even worse, considering you're conducting revisionism as well.

Well it's true that the medias don't judge the palestinians and the israelis equally. When a palestinian blows himself in a bus or shoot a rocket in the air that fall on a school he is a terrorist, ok. But when israel shoots hospitals whit F16, tanks, heavy artillery, when israel shoots schools, destroy houses, steals trees and lands, they say they are defending themselves, wtf...

The situation is so obvious when u see it with a unpartial eye. Why should a people like the palestinians, who shoot israelis with ROCKS, would attack a country with tanks and airplanes, helicopter, because they don't have the choice. The terrorist on this side are not the arabs, but it's the israelis, people should get informed on what is going on there.

Mr. Elvis lives in Toronto (or so he says) and is therefore subject to Canadian hate speech laws. Laws I oppose, I might add.

Laugh if you wish, if the CHRC subpoenas CKA for an IP address on Mr. Elvis he won't be laughing very much at all.
