VANCOUVER -- A grizzly bear expert is dismissing claims British Columbia's coastal grizzly bears are dying of starvation because of declining salmon runs as alarmist.
In my opinion the only way griz should be able to be hunted is with a black powder rifle, and a Bowie knife. They aren't hunted for meat, but as a trophy. Therefore to keep it as a "sport" make them use a weapon that will at least give the bear a sporting chance.
Well the ones who don't come across as ridiculous stereotypes of self-proclaimed commie-killin' "tough guys" are usually OK. We need more of them and much, much less of the other, hence the canned hunt idea.
Good so we can open more land for Hunting!
I'm all for starting up some canned hunting areas in Canada as long as the prey is specifically restricted to shooting obnoxious Americans.
Only the obnoxious ones?
