    Thats just gross.

And I can't believe the article sympathises with the prisoner by reffering to him as "her."

If she is refered to in court documents as Ms, she should be in a womens prison. She can pay for her own penectomy. Not on taxpayers expense.

Meh, I dont care what he/she wants to go by, it murdered someone. It should not have the federal government pay to have a sex change. What would be gained by having the operation done? The convice would be a little happier in jail and stop cutting off it's penis.... Here's a thought, dont re-attach it.

I'm sure if the individual sues the government through the human rights trubunals, they could probably buy that operation and a whole new prison wardrobe too.

If it lives that long, I think it would be incredibly ironic if after the sex change she gets shanked in the meal hall.

This individual should be transferred to a woman's prison, but having the government pay for a sex change operation is going a bit to far. He/She is a murder convict.

Toss her in the women's prisons and be done with it.

As it goes for the operation..... too bad, you're 61 years old now and lived with it for this long.... deal with it.

Maybe we should just make a new prison for gay/bi and transgendered criminals.

Then it'd be just like those wonderful prisons you see in Trailer Park Boys, only with a bit of a gay twist to it and fancy parties every weekend:

Uh huh, and...? Welcome to 'big-boy' prison. This is why people don't wanna go to prison....or beat their room mates to death causing them to go. Now it's 'her' who doesn't feel safe around her 'room mates'.

I don't care. No money. Go away.

Yeah the above quote isn't all that special.... gay and straight people face that sort of crap (pun intended) since Shawshank

"I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but prison is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew. Things went on like that for awhile - prison life consists of routine, and then more routine. Every so often, Andy would show up with fresh bruises. The Sisters kept at him - sometimes he was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. And that's how it went for Andy - that was his routine. I do believe those first two years were the worst for him, and I also believe that if things had gone on that way, this place would have got the best of him."
