OTTAWA � Canadians are crying foul over a decision by satellite and cable companies to slap subscribers with an extra fee for local programming.

    Remember when CTV had a huge save local television campaign? well this is what they were campaigning for!

    I don't blame the cable/sat companies in this case. It's just a disguised tax by the feds. They plain dropped the ball on that one. The reason was supposed to be because the cable/sat companies were charging us for what is essentially free TV.
    (ie local stations). And now with everything going digital, can you even GET local channels without cable or satellite?
    Sounds to me like the feds slipped a tax through and let the cable/sat companies take the heat for it.
