Well, look at that. Someplace getting aid that isn't in Ontario or Quebec for once. Looks like BC really does matter after all.

Just remember.....there may be another election called in the near future.....I really should have put this story into the political section.

This has been a huge mess so there's no doubt that the funding will come through.
Now if the Libs take over, that's a whole different matter. They don't see much reason to put money into places where their unlikely to get votes.

I was at that press conference and they missed a few things. One, the federal funding only comes into place after the fires are put out. It is funding to help rebuild not to put out the fires.
Two the news video did a bad job about the Evergreen line, they made Harper look like he was clueless. In fact, he had not heard about this "report" that the reporter mentioned and the reporter did not mention were she got her source from. In fact, not had heard about this report. Everyone had a good laugh about it.

If this story is so incomplete it makes you wonder how bad other stories are.

Actually, not a bad idea but I'm thinking Navy instead. Not being smart assed, I'm just guessing, based on merchant marine training where they have to learn practical fire-fighting.

There is a plan in the works right now with Naval Personnel from the west coast deploying to the interior, but forest fire fighting is very different from ship-board fire-fighting....the Navy has more water

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever read on this site.

To Stokes: Yeah, that's true lol, I just meant from an experience perspective. Not sure how many ground pounders are trained in fire fighting.
