is Vancouver in Canada or China, because it sure sounds like they are taking it a bit far, its a sports event for S#$ts sake. if people dont like it, thats their RIGHT, as is the RIGHT to SPEAK out about it. HAVE A BIT OF SENSE.

Comparing Vancouver to China? lol, you idiot.

If we were as bad as China, by making such a statement the police would already be on the way to your residence to shit-kick and arrest your ass, never to be seen again.

The anti-olympic folks are some of the same anti-apec, anti-globalization, and the pro-hockey riot, rent-a-crowd. There is a anarchist agitator group that will use this to disrupt and loot and I do believe these are the people the police are most worried about. How they can be stopped before they act is the dilema in an open society.

Perhaps Srg. Pepper hasn't retired yet?

maybe you dont like to compare Vancouver to China for trying to control everything that people perceive, but it sure sounds like something that happened in China during the games there.

Your right for the most part, I'm sure there a few sensable folks opposed to the Olympics as well but the majority are anarchists and the same idiots we see on the news protesting the G8 and other such summits. (Notice how they almost always wear masks?)

I have no liking for anarchists, for the most part they are against any sort of organization, especially government, yet they sure seem to enjoy the benifits of what they protest against, they all have ipods and home computers made by sony with an intel inside logo on them, they listen to their punk rock distributed by major record labels and wear designer clothes with anti establishment slogans on them.

Granted they have caused trouble at other events but some of the measures I've heard about are just rediculous in relation to these olympics, we do live in Canada and regardless of the IOC or polliticians free speach still has a place ANYWHERE in our country, weather I agree wiht whats being said or not.

I'm sure there are. I do know that there are more people in Canada that speak Madarin Chineese than French.

Let them protest I say, as soon as they break the law. Blocking traffic, vandalism, no permit to protest etc. Arrest the whole lot of em.
