EDMONTON - Albertans are crossing their fingers that predicted cloudy patches turn into bouts of rain later this week to wash away what has become a dry spring of sunburnt misery.

Well, we got several hours of rain last night. Hopefully, that's just the start, as the forecast calls for lots of rain in the next few days.

Same here, we had only 20% of the normal precipitation, I was told... And no rain in the forecast yet.

Boots and Brenda, I'll send you some of our rain in the mail. We are getting lots here in southern Ontario.

Seems kinda funny, not literally, that some regions are dry while others are drenched.

And the farmers probably are getting tired of this sort of weather.

The eastern prairies have more than enough moisture.

SW Sask, my parents farm, Dad didn't think there would even be a harvest this year, two weeks ago the got 1.25" of rain. Now they will probably have a harvest, but it will be spotty and pathetic. Too little, too late.

Will be a crop insurance year, they won't be booking any vacations, that's for sure.
