The NDP is on the verge of a historic election win in Nova Scotia, which would the first time the party formed a government in any of the Atlantic provinces.

I hope they lose... I have no desire to live under a socialist regime... Can the present economic environment warrant more socialist spending....!!??

Saying the NDP are socialist is a little out there. their party platform is a far cry from the true socialist philosophy.. more social democratic. But making those kinds of statements encourages fear mongering and is viewed by some as a last straw attempt to attract votes..

They got union support, that helps them.

Last week the NDP returned the money it received from several unions belonging to the Mainland Building and Construction Trades Council after staff realized the donations may have broken campaign rules.

Under election rules a trade union can only make a single donation of $5,000.

my god, would you give it a rest already. If everyone was so unhappy with harper they would not have voted for him TWICE. Give it a rest. This article is about the NDP in the east, not your turn to get jabs in at the government because you don't like them. Your views are well known and no one cares already.

Over 60% of the people didn't vote him in.

that's the beauty of the multi-party as opposed to two-party system... the fringe groups eat into the total % of the main ones... like Ross Perot to the Democrats in the States :D

Come on man, get your head out of the sand. We've had Liberal governments in BC for three terms. The NDP is slowly picking up support, and yet support for the Conservative government is steadfast. Wake up, this is a provincial election you're commenting on.
