Didn't some clown in Ontario try the same thing in the 90's. What happened to him anyway?

It's not such a bad idea, and it's at the right time of the year.

    I don't get paid vacations. :?

You should, every employer is required by law to with hold 4% of your pay, so when you get your 2 weeks you ar unaffected financially

Aren't there a minimum amount of hours you have to work before you are eligible?

Reminds me of when I worked for the Federal Government. One day got notice I had 5 weeks vacation that had to be used or lost. I asked the boss if I could have all my Fridays off 'til it was used up. He agreed. My first Friday off and of course he needed something only I could provide. Monday he was severely pissed. It wasn't long before he said He'd never allow it again.

It's like knocking a cog off a clock and expecting it to work properly. I wish them luck.

When our resident slug Gordo takes an unpaid vacation, then the Government Employees should be asked, but not before.

Oh wait, wasn't Gordo on an upaid vacation while he was doing research on the American judicial system and made the politically profound discovery that impaired driving only applies to elected Provincial officials while on Canadian soil.

um... aren't we usually upset with gov't employees and their benefits?

Usually, but some hate Campbell even more so it's ok. It seems anyway. Campbell is BCs best Premier since Bill Bennet.

Only those who are because their own jobs are really shitty.
The rest of us wouldn't even apply for a gov't job because the wages and benefits suck compared to the private sector.

yup...tell that to all those GM employees who may lose their pensions. My pension will be the result of my own investment and savings.

Now, now......don't jump on little Gordie too hard now. He does have to figure out how to pay for the billions in cost over runs the Olympics will cost the province. If he can get the government employees to take unpaid holidays until that mess is paid for, those people should be back on paid holidays by 2172...June 19th to be exact...

I wonder if the MLA's will also throw their hat in and make some sort of concession on their salaries. My guess would be probably not.

If Gordie turned in all his empties, would that help with the cash short fall?
