OTTAWA Polar Breeze is a military project so cloaked in secrecy the Department of National Defence at first categorically denied it even existed.

good... let's keep it that way. full disclosure to the media of military projects is ill-advised and the NDP member should understand that...

Isn't Polar Breeze the name of a vodka or cooler drink?

PS: the NDP can go fuck itself as per usual. What do they want next, full publication of the names and home addresses of everyone at CSIS or in JTF2? Without exception, and practically every day, they consistently keep showing that they are the worst and most repulsive political organization in the history of Canada.

Unless these satellites are able to drop a bomb on intruders this seems a little pointless.

Which means there is probably nothing there. How many Canadians know the activities of the JTF2 or what the JTF2 even is? Not many I'd wager. CSIS? Copycats of the CIA except they aren't in any movies to bolster their secrecy.

The Canadian govt seems to like leeking out little tidbits of secret things being done in the name for Canada but how likely is it ever to be implemented? Oh it won't because it is so secret nobody will even know it existed or ended. A story is good for its beginning but we need a middle and a climax.

Unless they are building ships and bases to support the arctic or defence nets which blow subs enroaching in Canadian waters, I don't care. If they are doing that, it should be public anyways.

If the NDP was so concerned about costs of a secret project why release it to the media, why not show some concern for security and talk to the minister about supposed cost over runs...oh wait what am I thinking I am talking about the NDP not some party that will ever lead this country!!!

    typical NDP pinko socialist BS.

Maybe Taliban Jack should go drink a 'breezer' and leave defending the nation to people with both sides of a brain...

The NDP is just fishing for an Issue here. Secret Military projects are nothing new and necessary. One day some kind of revealing will occur, but even then don't expect many details.

Look at all this typical NDP bashing. If it was the conservatives asking for the intel it would be ok right?

All that guy wants is to know what they are up to. Which is the right we have. Unless of course you think it's ok that the government and military keeps things from the public and does things without our consent on the subject.

But than again, you only go against it because a "socialist pig" wanted to the information. He isn't asking for the names of the people involved or there address all he wants to know is what the hell they are up to.

Right and Canada has done so great under the leadership of the Liberals and Conservatives right?. NDP hasn't even gotten a shot yet so yeah keep critisizing it's usability but as far as I am concerned the NDP attempts to get the best of both parties. But hey, if you want to smash a party based on one representive. Maybe I should bring up some liberal and conservative history?

I WANT the military doing stuff i don't know about.
If I know, then everyone knows, including people that I dont want to know.

There was no need to take this public, just typical NDP bullshitting.

Actually yes Canada has done well under the Liberals and Conservatives. Look around. The NDP has governed provincially and they've f'ed it up royally.

    Are you serious???

Of course there are certain things the military/government is going to keep from the public. It's like that because it's sensitive to operational and state security. I expect that there are certain details that need to be withheld in order to maintain the integrity of what they are doing.

And for the record NO it would not be OK if it was the Libs, Cons Greens, Bloc or any other party you can name was asking for details. This is the NDP trying to get air time and making it look like they are protecting Canadians from their own government. And for them to publicly throw this out there just to forward there own crap agenda shows that they have no business running the country because if they did, every state secret we had would be published within a week.
