Did you listen to the radio debate on CKNW?
Everything Carole James said started with Gordon Campbell... but she refused to accept that she was running a negative campaign.

I'm going to do a protest vote for the Conservatives. I don't want the Liberals but I want the NDP much less.

We all know Gordo is going to get back in...its our destiny in BC

The real problem in BC is why do we all go with shit-eating phoney grins (the Zalm, Grace McCarthy) and permanent smirks (Gordo) on our leaders?

Plus I sorta sympathize. Cruising at 140 on the Coquihalla on a nice day might be wasting gas but it isn't goddam dangerous. This "excessive speeding" bullshit was brought in under the guise of hitting street racers and has turned into a cash grab just like photo-radar was.
I nearly got nailed cuz there's a nice little trap near Decker Lake, you sail down Hwy16 at 100, go thru the towns slowly, then the homes all disappear and it stays at 60 for a couple more klicks. The guy in front took off like a rocket, I looked in the rearview and saw 10 cars behind me and thought, shit I'm dawdling and holding everyone up. So I goose it and a cop nails the guy who took off, makes him wait and comes after me too. Threatened me with 'excessive speeding' as I was clocked at 91.
Total shit! The 100 sign was just around a corner from where he pegged me.

    True.
I guess in one way we should be happy because it is proof that these people do get tickets.

Of course it is. Just imagine trying to avoid an animal when you're going that speed.

If you hit an animal at 140 its your problem.
If you hit a kid at 140 its really a problem.

We have that stupid 50 over street racing law in Ontario too.

I think it should be 50 over in an under 70 zone or something.
That would cover the streets and leave the highways alone.

As far as a politician breaking the law..ya..whatever, at least some cop had the stones to bust him

What about when going 140, you hit that family with two little kids in the back? It's not just animals you worry about on the highway.

Try to remember, not all of us live in the boonies where the only traffic you see is two raccoons and a deer.

    Thats my biggest beef.
Laws made for southern Ontario idiots that govern the whole province.
You guys have a problem, deal with it, but don't make a law that screws me along with it.
