Barack Obama on Monday seized upon his first symbolism-laced visit to the Muslim world as US president to declare that the United States is not and never will be at war with Islam.

Let's just hope and pray that they're not at war with us.

    No need to, they're not.

So basically Obama repeated the same thing Bush said since 2001? Okay...?

The difference is that Obama means it.

I missed the part of Bush's Presidency where he sent B-52s over Mecca and Medina....anybody have that link?

He invaded Iraq and Afghanistan and repeatedly inferred Iran could be next. Muslims might make that distinction. Whats more since it only makes them that much stronger sayings its a war on islam is quite frankly their version of waving the flag. Last but certainly not least is the very vocal supporters of those wars saying outright that the problem and therefore the wars are caused by islam itself. This is further emphasized with the typical "glass the whole middle-east" statements that would leave any reasonable muslim (to say nothing of the unreasonable ones) with the righteous belief that they are in fact at war with islam.

And non-Muslims can make the distinction that Islam is at war with non Muslims with terrorist attacks stretching from New York to Madrid to Israel to India all the way to Indonesia. Yet if we make that distinction we're evil and ignorant and such. If they make the distinction, then they are just as ignorant.

Since you mentioned it, more then a few people didn't make that distinction and I think deep down more then a few more won't admit to it. Thats why they support virtually any military action against any muslim nation.

Considering the steps you take to justify war based on the actions of those so called extremists it was western nations that struck the first blow long ago and certainly with the massive western interference dating back over a hundred years in the region then when ever the question is "who started it", we are guilty.

Oh Christ Derby, you want to go back in time? They started it 1300 years ago when they invaded Christian Asia Minor, North Africa, and Eastern Europe.

That's right, they "started" it. In the end, you completely avoided and dodged. If non Muslims can't say that Islam is at war with us, Muslims can't say that we're at war with them. Either you agree with this, or you're being a hypocrite.

Any argument that goes off this topic will be completely ignored. I don't need the bullshit with my bacon and eggs.

The Islamic conquest of Constaninople in 1453 and then the subjugation of the Balklans until the 19th century......definitely...definitely, definitely, definitely.

I'm talking the modern era. Either you are familiar with history or you are not and anything beyond a statement showing you are firmly aware of how badly they were interfered with is just revisionist history.

Even your ancient history is flawed. I don't recall them invading England but that didn't stop the reverse in any number of crusades.

Red-herring though because I'm talking modern history and you know it.

Then off you go. You have no problem supporting violence against them so you should expect it back.

Muslims use religion the same way we use patriotism. I have already explained that when the 9/11 terrorists attacked the call was very loud that it was an attack by muslims. Attacking Iraq just made that idea seem the only one because the only people buying bushs pack of lies were a few fanatical westerners and of course the very people who do consider us to be at war with the religion.

Don't want them to think we are at war with them? Stop supporting troops in their countries then. Easy as pie to solve.
