A jihadist today became the first man to be sentenced under Canada's post-9/11 laws as a judge meted out a 10 1/2-year sentence against Mohammad Momin Khawaja.

    At the last place I worked, we used to look at the news, especially at photos of people who had been arrested. Then we tried to guess from the photo, if the person was guilty or not.

    In the case of this guy, I would have said guilty right away.
    Not only guilty, but 'electric chair guilty'.

    Upon returning unsuccessful, he took a job as a contracted software operator for the Department of Foreign Affairs.


    I wonder what his security clearance was?
    Not that there wasanything to indicate he was a problem at the time but I hope someone is looking into what he was doing there, and what he was doing with the data.

    Even though he has been in jail 5yrs.. another 10.5 yrs is too light. He can apply for parole in 2012.. What kind of message is this sending to other terrorists that are in the country working behind smoke screens?
