Defence Minister Peter MacKay has warned that the future of NATO is at stake if some of the alliance's members don't do more in Afghanistan.

    Lt.-Gen. Andrew Leslie, meanwhile, says that Canada's army is being pushed to the limit by the strains of the Afghanistan mission and the force will need at least a year to recover once the troops return in 2011.
    A year, more like 5 there sir....

    NATO should have been severely scaled back after the fall of the Warsaw Pact. A new Org with an entirely post-Cold War agenda could have made in its' place.

    Seriously though, I have to agree, if reports are accurate, we're going through LAVs almost faster than we can replace them. And I'm sure people are getting awfully tired of always being away from family, nevermind the stress that combat of this nature brings with it.

    Let's hope Veteran Affairs doesn't try to stiff people the way they have in the past.

    A new org composed only of those willing to carry some weight?
