Decision to omit O Canada hits patriotic nerve

Here's my bottom line. It's our anthem, so sing it, or just stand quietly at attention. If you don't like it adn feel that you can't accept that after all the bending over backwards we've already done for you, then GTFO. God should stay out of the classroom unless the classroom is a world-religions class. This is the NATIONAL ANTHEM, which doesn't even come CLOSE in comparison.

I think it's up to the parents to teach their kids about their country and their religion. Keep them both out of my kids schools. I want my child to practise the ABCs, I'll worry about the Anthem and explaining that santa clause and god aren't real.

You didn't read my post correctly. There were no comparisons at all. Least of all between the Anthem and religion, that thought doesn't even make sense. How do you defend something that isn't being attacked? I suppose techincally it's possible. However, I think it's more an example of how people like to take what other people say and fill in the blanks with jibberish and ridiculousness then get all flustered and make dumbass comments that don't make sense.
