CAIRO, Egypt - President Barack Obama chose an Arabic-language satellite TV network for his first formal television interview as president, delivering a message Tuesday to the Muslim world that "Americans are not your enemy."

    And so what I want to communicate is the fact that in all my travels throughout the Muslim world, what I've come to understand is that regardless of your faith - and America is a country of Muslims, Jews, Christians, non-believers - regardless of your faith, people all have certain common hopes and common dreams."

    The interview was a powerful signal that Obama, a Christian whose late father was a Muslim, considers immediate efforts to repair America's tense relationship with the Arab world a top priority.

    Oh my fucking god! America has elected a truly intelligent, intelligable, reasonable person as president, who actually has a passport and has not only travelled to other countries but actually lived in them too!

    Maybe you forgot that George W. Bush had never been to another country before he became president and didn't even possess a passport. Context just doesn't matter at all to you, does it?

    Perhaps Obama can tell those reasonable Muslim folks throwing acid in school girls faces or suicide bomb random people just because they don't share the same religion.. of peace. :roll:

    Yeah America is not there enemy unti'll they start terrorizing Ameircan citizens again than Obama would have no choice but to do what Bush did, expecept as a more intelligent person. He will actually pick the proper country to invade instead of mistakenly attacking the wrong country responsable.

    Terrorism won't stop unti'll it is confronted and made to stop. Simply stating "We are not your enemy" does not put all anger aside and make terrorists not want to attack anymore.

    I'll leave the flaming to others.

    There's a transcript on the link and it's really soft on details, as it would have to be. This was similar to the leader of Iran giving his Christmass message to the UK. No discussion of Israel and no harsh words for a nuclear Iran either.
