Tickets for Vancouver's 2010 Olympic Games were for sale on the internet just a few short hours after the people who won the lottery for the first round of tickets released were notified.
this is so disgusting. What got to me the most was for the Gold Medal Hockey game, there was only 4000 tickets up for lottery to the general public...who got the other 14,000?
I'm so sick of this shit. It has become nearly imposable for the ordinary Joe to get a ticket to an event and if you're luck enough to get your hands on some you guarantee that you'll be in the nose bleeds. Christ you go online or over the phone and 80% of the seats are sold out before they go on sale. We had on concert here in Calgary (I forget who it was) and it was solid out before the day before the tickets went on sale! What the $&%# is up with that?
A couple of things need to happen here. One is that they should limit the number of seats they give away to corporate donors. I'm sick of going to a sold out Flames game or other events only to see half of the best seats in the place empty. The Chinese Olympics were a good example of this.
Two is that Ticket Master needs a major overhaul and Ticket Master should not be allowed to be a owner of a company that scalps tickets (like stubhub).
