A good portion of the comments I read on the link are talking about the greed of people trying to get the bargains and deals. Does that not say more to the state of our economy that people are willing to go to that length to save some money? I know that's looking for something thats not there.. but that's what it looks like to me

American culture sliding into the abyss. One report told of how even after the ambulance team showed up the shoppers kept stepping on the man.

If so, I don't see people being that eager to buy cheap Made-In-China crap. I'd be the one trying to get out in that sort of a rush.

No it's typical America fervor and disregard for other human beings, I've heard of similar stories, that occured in prosperous times.
2 men were in a shootout in a Toys'R'Us in California today, I mean who brings a gun to a friggin Toy store. Only in America folks, land of the free where everyone ownes a gun.

look how many people die at soccer matches, concerts or any place there are large crowds and confined spaces when people start bumping and shoving.

yah, I heard that the police and paramedics were being shoved and pushed as they did CPR on the guy. F*cking travesty...killed in a Wal-Mart stampede. Surprised the police on scene didn't pull their fire arms to stem the flow of people.

Absolutely disgusting...but I would change that to human culture instead of American culture.

It says nothing about our economy. I remember seeing people make a mad dash for boxing day sales years ago, almost running down anything in their path.

It is bad enough that a temporary worker who probably just did it to make a living, that also a pregnamt woman gets stomped over too by people.
Is human life that " insignificant" these days to the almighty dollar?
It is bad enough to open at 5 am just to get some things that are low price, let alone be open 24 hours, like some of them around here.
