They may not strike fear into the hearts of hardened criminals, but they can lay claim to being the most environmentally-friendly crime fighting vehicles on the market.

In case you make it into a police force in Canada, BC thanks you for crossing us off. Secondly, does this mean you aren't open to new ideas for policing? We also have cops on bikes, and cops on ATV's.

You dont got one yet?
The T3's were originally designed as a tool for community policing. There are more than 1,400 in operation in North America in the fields of law enforcement, mall security, beach and park patrolling and private security - including malls.

Good. We already have enough cops who are friendly with organized crime.
Just a quick observation though.. I'm guessing these fall into the old person scooter class and I can't really see how they'd be better than bicycles in a crowded downtown.
Hmmm, too slow to chase a moped. Improper to carry additional weapons, ammunition or other equipment. Can't carry suspects from a crime scene to jail. Can't use it for cover. All this thing seems to be good for is to make our police fat(ter) and lazy(ier). Get off the Segway and walk dammit!

As noted by the Inspector, " the scooters would be of benefit to beat-cops". I don't think they intend to replace patrol-cops rides! If a 'beat-cop' needed to have a prisoner transported or a moped chased then they would call for a car. Same as they do now.

You've just described a bike, which is widely used in BC for law enforcement.
"Brenda" said I think they are sweet, and for a city, or sub-urbs, it sure beats them on foot
I can't see them being used in my neck of the woods though
Yah. Goin up some of those hills could sure take a while. But it would be 'worth the price of admission' to see them come down. Christamighty they'd sure make good time eh!
Anyone see that commercial on tv depicting a Canadian cop chase? The perps are stuck in the snow and one guys pushing,50 feet behind him is the cop car stuck, with one cop trying to push it out.
