After 37 days on the high wire of a federal election campaign, Stphane Dion appeared relaxed and upbeat as he tried to rally NDP and Green voters to his cause yesterday.

    good bye Dion.

I feel somewhat sorry for this guy, WAY to naive to be in politics.

Both the cons and the libs should consider a leadership review.. no one will give harper a majority because they dont trust him and M.Dion has communication problems in english... should be an interesting winter... wonder what gifts santa harper will give us in Quebec for Christmas and Newfoundland should be up for some goodies as well.. Petit Papa Harper..

Harper screwed up in Quebec and ran a shoddy campaign elsewhere, despite that he got more votes and 18 more seats than he did in 2006.
He's safe, he's already swinging back into doing the job as PM, something he does way better than he campaigns.
Dion will be gone then we can watch Iggy and Bob fight it out. In the mean time the bigger minority CPC government will shove it's agenda down the Liberals throats and they won't do a thing to stop them in parliament.

Kenmore, you posted pages of partisan shite against the Tories over the past few months. How does it feel to be so wrong ALL the time?

Dion isn't naive at all. As a Quebec liberal for many, mnay years, he's been involved in some pretty bloody battles--the referendums, the Martin/Chretien struggle, the leadership race. He's a smart guy, by all accounts, and has been known as a force at the Cabinet table.

He can't communicate though. His comand of English is poor, he comes across as unsure and flighty on camera and he was incapable of inspiring others to follow him.

I wouldn't hand the crown over to Iggy or Bob just yet. Bob is looking a tad peaked these days, and he's not well liked in Ontario, I gather. Iggy has to overcome his outsider status. Floor's open on the Liberal front, I'd say.

Maybe zip, Bob is hated here but he's a smart politician and I put him as a favourite.
He would also appeal to the left wing of the party which bled votes to the NDP.

Iggy would be the biggest threat to the Tories. He's likeable and a more acceptable face of Liberalism to guys like me who are red-Tories.

I would actually consider voting Liberal if Iggy was the leader.
