EDMONTON - Alberta is scrambling to come up with a backup plan to vaccinate girls against a virus that causes cervical cancer as more Catholic school boards opt out over a program they say condones premarital sex.

They should set up something just off of the school ground; really stick it to those pious religious tossers.

Now that's a damned good idea.

I'd go even further and review any public funding they get. Getting vaccinated against HPV is not immoral.

I thought Henrey reversed his position on this.

Its the other Catholic schools that seem to be a problem now; a religious stupidity infection, I think they all need a shot of Atheistic Penicillin. That would clear it up quite nicely.

The public funding they get is the tax paid by the families of the students. You have a choice to send your kids to the public or Catholic system and send your tax dollars along with them. What you're saying is you should shut the schools down.

there is no money handed to them.

I shouldn't respond given the intelligence of ruez.. but here goes..
I agree with vaccination against HPV for both sexes.. and there should be free clinics and the vaccine should be given to anyone who requests it..

    Now..
As far as the Catholic church goes, if one follows that faith... the question is... are we encouraging teenagers to engage in sex if we allow this.. its is the same as their position on condoms in schools.. the church teaches and believes that sex is for procreation of mankind and that it should be practiced only in marriage..
It is their beliefs and they are entitled to them... ..
also you seem to think that the millions of catholics who pay taxes in this country are somehow given your money... not so.. the funding formula is proportionate and its a right.... you cant suggest holding their own tax money because you dont agree with their religious phylosophy.

You're an idiot, but thanks for playing

I assume that this vaccination will protect married women later in their life, as well as single women.

It's time for the catholic church to join the 21 century. Protecting women from cervical cancer is far more important then possibly giving little Jenny catholic school girl the idea that having sex is fun.

You see the problem with that is, the Catholic schools are wrong. There is no evidence that shows handing out condoms promotes pre marital sex. If may be the school'ss belief, but they also believe that a magic invisable man cares when and who you have sex with.
