OTTAWA - Close, but no recession, at least in Canada. That was the good news amid all the bad in economic forecasts Wednesday, including declarations by several that the U.S. economy is already in recession

We'll have to wait and see if it works out that way. I hope so, but there's room for more surprises which could eat into that meager growth quickly.

PANIC!! THIS IS NO TIME FOR RATIONAL THOUGHT!
We must do something, or be seen to do something.

Harper said he believes there are "probably some great buying opportunities out there."

Marie Antoinette said, "let them eat cake" and lost her head for it. So, if Harper just loses this election he should probably consider himself a very lucky man.

It's a hard concept for a dipper to understand but maybe you can google it.

    PM blasts market 'pessimists'
'Buying Opportunities'; Harper says Canada's banks 'weatherproofed'

Andrew Mayeda and Juliet O'Neill, Canwest News Service
    Published: Thursday, October 09, 2008

Stephen Harper accused the opposition yesterday of trying to exploit "panic and pessimism" in the financial markets to win votes.

Under fire for his earlier comment that Canadians could seek bargains in the tumbling stock market, the Prime Minister said his own family is not immune to the financial storm and his mother gives him immediate feedback on the crisis.

"We're getting this criticism that somehow I don't understand the stock market, or I don't understand what people are feeling about the stock market," Mr. Harper told reporters in Victoria.

"I use my mother as an obvious example because she's the person closest to me who's most worried about the stock market these days. And believe me, I get quicker updates from here on the stock market than I do from the Department of Finance."

Puts and calls are my forte, Riden.

Seven wee words sum up Harper's, I don't give a fuck, thinking.

Let's just check with Professor Dion and see what his recomendation is:

Take this green pill* and call me in 30 days.
    ------

    *Pharmaceutical Monograph:

NOTE: Not recommended for use in bad economic times or to help the poor.

    Side effects:

Will pull 40 billion dollars out of the pockets of Canadians.

May not harmonize with existing carbon taxes.

Will harm the auto and manufacturing sectors.

    Will cause inflation.

Will not actually reduce CO2 or come close to meeting Kyoto targets.

    Will not be revenue neutral.

Will put an unfair burden on Canadian business.

Will cause trading partners great discomfort and possibly spark a trade war.

Will cause the price of EVERYTHING to go up.

Will not create jobs and may in fact eliminate jobs.

Will increase the cost of gasoline.

May cause stock prices to tumble.

Will create much increased regional discomfort and possible spontaneous amputation of same.

Will not really do anything at all to help the economy, but will raise money for Liberal spending schemes.

Will harm those that can least afford it. (The poor and those on fixed pensions)

    Lol. The one I wrote?

The one you laughed at as false and nothing but a Conservative blog.. then quoted and relied on that very same blog to defend you're claim?

No wonder no one believes you're shit anymore.

No, you quoted the Hong Kong Herald as "evidence". Then you were soundly busted by Rev Blair quoted Taylors blog admitting the lie and when a con blogger admits a lie you know its only because it was so soundly busted.

You lied and were busted. 'nuff said.

Nobody believes any crap you write anyway but still it was nice to see you exposed as a liar in all your glory by somebody else.

I got tired of busting your ass like I did concerning seat distribution, SAR, YVR, Liberal Tax cuts, ..... the list goes on and on.

The only "proof" was the reporter saying he misunderstood the use of the word "official" language. Nothing reguarding Jack's quotes was changed.
No mention of the promised embassy either.

On one hand you say that all those Conservative blogs are lies and then you say that the same Conservative blog proves you were right.
