And who says just the Muslims are living in the 12th century?

To be fair they are living in pre-1796 times as thats when Edward Jenner ran his vaccination experiments.

Yes, I can see why you make that statement. Muslims won't allow girls to get an education and the catholics won't allow them to recieve a vaccination at school. This is when the parents need to step in a and do the right thing for their children.

Can't they just go outside the school, like to a doctor or the hospital to get the vaccine?

I'm sure they can. The school only controls the vaccination given on the property.

If you teach abstinence wouldn't it be counter produtive to offer it on school grounds?

I was of course being sarcastic, but the Catholic Church is very old-fashioned, as evidenced by this silly decision. As they are putting their faith before their followers health, I feel totally justified in the comparison.

They are assuming that if they allow their students to have this, they will all run out and immediately begin having sex. The exact same thought process is behind their aversion to sex education. That's totally backward and definitely not even close to a 21st century outlook.

Saying a vaccine condones sex is like saying seatbelts condone speeding.

    Idiots.

I agree with you it's backwards. However I can not get behind your comparison to a religion that will not even allow girls an education and treats them like property.

The vaccine is offered in public schools and there are those who for religious reasons refuse to have their daughter vaccinated. Its a shame really it protects them for life. But some think it gives them a green light to have sex. Same as the condom issue,, birth control is against the Catholic faith and some other religions.. vary victorian..

Yet you hold the entire religion to the actions of a few extremists in their version of it.

While their society has a long way to go in terms of fair treatment of women, girls in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, and even Saudi Arabia go to school up to and including university. They have women profs.

Boots was right on the money.
